About Northside Hospital Behavioral Health Services

Located at 6105 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd NE #155, Atlanta, GA 30328, Northside Hospital Behavioral Health Services operates as a medical specialist serving Atlanta in Georgia. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as mental health service, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In Atlanta, urgent care centers are busiest on weekends and evenings when doctors' offices are closed, and most post their wait times online. Across Georgia, primary care practices often have a waitlist for new patients, so establishing care before you need it saves time. For a dental emergency outside office hours, an urgent care center can prescribe antibiotics and pain relief but cannot fix the tooth; a hospital emergency room can treat swelling that affects breathing or swallowing. Check the listing for insurance, hours and whether telehealth visits are offered.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (404) 851-8960. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is northside.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating stands at 2.6 out of 5 from 70 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

Atlanta is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Traffic in Atlanta peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The most horrible experience I’ve ever had with any mental health facility. EVER. And that’s saying something because I had my first therapist at 15yo and have had several over the last 20 years. Zero empathy for me as a grieving mother at 3 months postpartum. They repeated the same procedural lines to me even when I told them I was in crisis and did nothing to make finding help any easier for me. I will never reach out to them again and would not recommend them to anyone. It’s as if they don’t realize or care how debilitating having mental health issues can be so in order to get help you have to perform tasks like someone who - you guessed it - WOULDN’T NEED HELP! So many people who are in poverty, or are minorities, or are just too traumatized to advocate for themselves slip through the cracks in our healthcare system. This place is an absolute chasm.

Amazing experience so far in my healing journey. Friendly welcoming staff, very professional & thorough services! They take a well-rounded view of mental health which is rare nowadays. 10/10 recommend☺️

Extremely nice staff, very professional, very clean office as well. I would recommend this location to anyone. Dr. Nana Nimo is very knowledgeable and sweet. The office admin staff Jacinta, Jackson, Matthew, Jen are all over the top! They always greet me with a smile and warm welcome (even when I’m late lol).

I have been a patient for many years at Northside Behavioral Health. In comparison to other service providers, Northside Behavioral Health is wonderful, I don’t understand the many negative reviews. I once left NBH because I tried a psychiatrist closer to my residence only to return because my other service provider was so bad. The care you receive is structured according to need. For example, I see a psychiatrist for a maintenance appointment every 6 months, therapy every 2-3 months, and I voluntarily go to a day program they offer once a week. It’s still a lot but manageable. With any disability there can be a lot of appointments, but I work part time and they are very accommodating to my schedule. Several things I can tell about NBH is it’s a respectful environment, it’s not an exceptionally clinical feeling environment, they do require you to see a psychiatrist AND therapist so expect that and some patients may have other requirements according to need. The clinicians are polite and professional. The appointment setting is very easy and they have always had a lenient cancellation policy or let you change the dates of the appointments. I cannot say anything bad, the on

Been trying to try this place for 10 years at this point because for some reason it’s the only option. You have to wait months for appointments. I just waited at least 3 months for an appointment that I actually really need. Now at the time of the appointment I’m finding out that my appointment has magically disappeared after I confirmed it through the link they sent me and called them back. They told me I had to wait for them to call but I already confirmed through the link THEY sent me twice so I figured they didn’t want to talk anymore. The person on the phone tells me that the link is through something different and it’s not what they use. Then why would you send something you don’t even use? They don’t even have anyone to explain to you why an appointment you’ve been waiting on for months just disappeared I guess because “it’s around lunch time” I’ve seen other reviews say the same thing. At this point I feel like someone just cancelled my appointment because they wanted extra lunch time or something. Now I have to wait 3 more months. At this point if you need help just move.

I just wanted to parrot the other reviews I have seen, because I think they are really true. The office staff here, while nice, are very disorganized, slow moving, and seem to only get things done when it is convenient for them. Furthermore, their intake for new patients is ridiculously long which doesn't help you as a patient in any way. The first time I came here the person at the front desk couldn't find the form I needed to fill out. Then, after I got sent back for my actual intake, they discussed my form with me to double check things and go over payment. The person who was doing this had a hard time answering my questions that I had. And also, they listed my partner as "Other" in the emergency contact just because we are in an age-gap relationship. I know I put Partner. This seemed really insensitive to me. Then, I had to do THREE additional intakes. One with a nurse, one with the therapist, and one with the psychiatrist. All on seperate days, and spread out. This all took about a month and a half after establishing care, and I still was barely getting any help. The last things that pushed me to seek help somewhere else, was when they wouldn't send my medical records to my

Very unorganized and unprofessional. Was referred here by my PCP and set up an appointment I had to wait nearly 2 months for. Confirmed the appointment 72 hours prior. Called to see if there were any other openings this month the day before the appointment and they told me my appointment had bern cancelled because I didn’t confirm (which I did, verbally over the phone). If you are seeking psychological/psychiatric assistance, I fear the stress of getting in a primary appt and lack of care by their admin team should be enough to tell you to find somewhere else to seek help. If the front end isn’t stable, the back end probably isn’t either and I do not trust putting my mental health in the hands of this facility.

I never actually got to have my first appointment. I filled out the paper work that was emailed to me, I called them to confirm that they received it and I was put on hold for a good 5 mins before someone came back on the phone told me to hold some more. I said "Sure! No problem". I was on hold for some additional time then they hung up on me! I figured it was a mistake and tried calling back. Suddenly, EVERYONE IS OUT OF OFFICE AND NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE. Excellent! The next day, no one reached out to me for me virtual appointment with the scheduled DR and that was that. My mental health is HIGHLY important to me, so if this is how they handle things, then I dodged a bullet and Lord knows I definitely don't need bullets. Yikes.
